Sara Brandspigel, MPH, serves as Managing Director of SAVIR where she oversees multiple projects, operations, and grants management.

Sara’s career in public health has focused on bridging research and practice and addressing major causes of injury and violence through upstream, public health approaches. She has worked on multiple suicide and child maltreatment prevention initiatives. She previously served as a research instructor at the Colorado School of Public Health, Director of Outreach for the Injury and Violence Prevention Center at CU, and Director of Behavioral Health Initiatives at the Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative.

Her experience has included work in multiple sectors, including a state public health agency, community-based non-profit and a national public health association. She previously served as Research Engagement and Translation Director for Systems for Action, a national program office of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. From 2020-2023 she served on the board of SAVIR.

She holds an MPH in maternal and child health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health and a BA from Wesleyan University.
