Carol Shirley
Carol Shirley is a DrPH candidate at Tulane University (expected completion Fall 2026) and serves as co-chair of the Connection, Outreach and Engagement Committee for SAVIR. She currently works as the Public Health Communications Specialist at the University of North Carolina Injury Prevention Research Center. She has over 15 years’ experience in marketing and communication in higher education and has won Telly and Hermes creative awards for her previous work at UNC Chapel Hill. Ms. Shirley is currently working as a research assistant with the NC Department of Public Safety’s Office of Violence Prevention on operationalizing the strategic plan they released in late 2024.
