Become a Leader in Firearm Injury Prevention Research
Applications are now open for the second cohort of the Firearm Injury Prevention Research in Nursing (FIPRN) Scholars Program, hosted by the CU Anschutz College of Nursing, the Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative, and the Injury & Violence Prevention Center. The program is designed to build research capacity in firearm injury prevention by providing early-career scientists with training, mentorship, and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
The 12-week hybrid program includes a 3.5-day in-person intensive in Aurora, Colorado (February 1-4, 2027), followed by weekly virtual sessions from March through May 2027. There is no cost to participate, and travel, lodging, and meals are covered for accepted scholars. Applications are due October 12, 2026.
