IOWA Injury Prevention Research Center: Celebrating 35 years of Injury and Violence Prevention
From Carri Casteel, Director, University of Iowa Injury Prevention Research Center, Professor, Department of Occupational and Environmental Health:
Campus is buzzing again with the arrival of the fall semester at the University of Iowa. The start of the academic year is always filled with excitement, making it the perfect time to celebrate an important milestone for the UI Injury Prevention Research Center—our 35th anniversary.
This year marks 35 years of the UI IPRC serving as a CDC Injury Control Research Center. We are proud to recognize the researchers, staff, students, partners, and supporters whose dedication and collaboration have shaped our center and advanced injury prevention over the past three and a half decades.
From August through October 2026, we invite you to follow our 35th Anniversary Spotlight Series on Facebook and LinkedIn as we celebrate some of the people and partnerships behind our success. As we honor this milestone, we also look ahead with excitement to the future of injury prevention research, collaboration, and innovation.
Go to our new webpage to learn about our 35th anniversary campaign and the history of our Center.
Thanks for everything you do to make our communities safer.
