Join the Drowning Prevention Research Interest Group: Quarterly meetings are scheduled

We invite you to join the SAVIR & Safe Kids Worldwide Drowning Prevention Interest Group. The group’s kick-off meeting occurred at the SAVIR 2025 conference where they reviewed the initial draft of the US National Water Safety Action Plan (USNWSAP) research agenda. The agenda, based on evidence gaps put forward by the USNWSAP working groups and a childhood drowning prevention research summit hosted by the National Drowning Prevention Association (NDPA) in 2022 is intended to provide guidance to researchers and funders on key applied research questions to move the drowning prevention field forward. We encourage you to participate in this dynamic interest group to advance a national plan on this critical issue.

Meeting dates:

• Wednesday, July 30th from 1-2:30pm ET;
• Wednesday, October 29th from 1-2:30pm ET,
• Wednesday, January 28th from 1-2:30pm ET;
• April at SAVIR 2026.
