Firearm injury disproportionately impacts racial and ethnic minority adults and youth in the US. In other countries genocide has systematically destroyed communities and cultures.

While the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda occurred over 30 years ago, the country has found a way to move towards healing collectively, and their Peace and Values Education has had a significant impact in these efforts.

The lessons of forgiveness and reconciliation were shared with a US-based violence intervention team, and together we are working with our Rwanda partners to revise the Peace and Values Curriculum to be specific to US-based violence.
