SAVIR on The Hill

In early March, leaders of several CDC-funded Injury Control Research Centers met with offices in D.C. to highlight the necessity of injury prevention research and participated in a briefing hosted by Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) and the Senate Mental Health Caucus to discuss the value of the Centers and their injury prevention activities.
SAVIR staff and members also joined the Safe States IVP Hill Day, advocating for full funding for the CDC Injury Center and ICRCs in next year’s budget. Once again, Christen Rexing, Executive Director brought eight MPH students to the hill for meetings with lawmakers.
