SAVIR Student Spotlight: Anna Njie, Undergraduate Research Assistant
Anna Njie, Undergraduate Research Assistant, Vanderbilt University- Department of Medicine, Health, and Society
What are your injury and violence prevention research interests?
I am interested in gun violence prevention research.
What is something you enjoy about participating in a SAVIR committee as a student?
I am new to being a SAVIR member, so my participation in the SECP committee has been limited, especially during the holiday season. However, I am excited to listen and learn from other students and early-career professionals as I work towards post-baccalaureate plans of continuing education.
What motivates you every day?
I am motivated by an appreciation of the sciences and excitement to learn all that I do not know. Coupled with personal experiences with violence in my community, I am always eager to participate in the world of violence and injury prevention research.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to read, dance, and spend time with loved ones.
