SAVIR is pleased to announce the “Find an Expert” directory, a powerful new tool designed to connect researchers, practitioners, media professionals, policymakers, and community partners with leading experts in the field of injury and violence prevention.

Available now on the SAVIR website, the “Find an Expert” directory highlights the depth and diversity of expertise within our community. Whether you’re looking for a collaborator on a research project, a speaker for your event, a source for a news story, or a technical advisor for a local initiative, this searchable database helps you quickly find the right person based on topic area, population focus, geographic region, and more.

Are You an Expert? Add Yourself! If you’re a SAVIR member working in injury and violence prevention and want to be included in the directory, we invite you to add your profile. It’s a great way to increase your visibility, share your work, and connect with others in the field.

To join the directory, log-in to the Member Portal on the SAVIR website and indicate your willingness to be included under the “Consent” section of your profile by unchecking the box that says “Exclude my information in the Public “Find an Expert” Directory.” Be sure to add Sample Talks and update your profile photo and contact information. The directory will list your name, discipline, research topics, sample talks, photo, work address and email.

Why This Matters: At SAVIR, we know that addressing injury and violence requires collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and communities. The new directory builds on our mission to advance the science of injury and violence prevention by making it easier to share knowledge, elevate expertise, and foster connections that lead to real-world impact.

Who Can Use It:

  • Researchers seeking collaborators or mentors
  • Journalists and media looking for trusted, credible sources
  • Community organizations and policymakers needing guidance on program design or policy recommendations
  • Students and trainees exploring career pathways or seeking guidance
  • Anyone invested in making communities safer and healthier
