At the SAVIR 2026 conference, one student will provide a plenary talk. This individual may be nominated by mentors, peers, or self-nominated. All nominated individuals will be invited to complete a brief form providing more information about themselves and their accomplishments. Several students will then be invited to participate in a brief interview. The selected student will be paired with a SAVIR Board Member to support them in developing and refining their talk.

Nominations are due January 15, 2026. The selected student will be notified by March 1, 2026.

This opportunity is only open to current students, and any student attending the SAVIR 2026 conference is eligible for nomination.

Past speakers have emphasized what a powerful experience this has been. Dr. Leslie Barnard (current SECP co-chair) was the Student Plenary speaker at the 2023 conference. She said, “Being a student plenary speaker was a transformative experience that allowed me to share my story and research on a prominent stage, connect with leaders in the field, and fostered lasting professional connections and opportunities that continue to shape my work.”

Please contact Leslie Barnard at leslie.barnard@cuanschutz.edu with any questions.

Learn more and make a nomination by January 15, 2026 (log-in required).
