SAVIR is partnering to promote a “Year of Action” for injury prevention, and there are so many fun and easy ways for SAVIR members to get involved! The following activities are suggested by the National Injury Prevention Day website for this quarter, with full descriptions of each activity included in the toolkit:

Connection. The goal of Quarter 1 (December 2025 – February 2026) is to strengthen your connections, share what’s working, amplify each other’s voices, and remind ourselves of the community we are part of to keep injury prevention visible.

Activities that can take 5 minutes or less:

  1.  Sign the Year of Action for Injury Prevention Pledge 
  2. Sign up for Advocacy Action Alerts through the Keep America Safe Coalition
  3. Mark your calendar for the next National Injury Prevention Day: November 18th, 2026
  4. Update your LinkedIn headline or “about” section to show that you work in injury prevention and public health.
  5. Follow injury prevention and public health organizations on LinkedIn:

Activities that can take 15-30 minutes: 

  1. Each month, search LinkedIn to find accounts that post about injury prevention. Follow, like, and comment to engage with these accounts!
  2. Create a post that shares a resource or information you have learned about injury prevention to engage with your network. Use the hashtag #BeInjuryFree.
  3. Connect with someone new – invite them to coffee or for a 1:1 virtual chat.
  4. Review resources for advocacy that can be found at the National Injury Prevention Day website and the Safe States website.
