The ASPPH IDEA Institute—short for Innovation, Discovery, and Excellence in Academia—is a new initiative designed to reimagine how academic public health is taught, learned, and led. It brings together ASPPH’s most forward-looking work in equity, pedagogy, leadership, and innovation.
-
More than just a resource library, the IDEA Institute functions as a living classroom and innovation lab, offering tools that support curriculum development, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhance student engagement through real-world application.
-
A key feature of the Institute is ARIE, the AI Resource for Institutional Excellence—a first-of-its-kind chatbot for academic public health. ARIE acts as a digital teaching assistant, research companion, and equity-minded guide. Grounded in principles of ethical and responsible AI use, ARIE is designed to support (not replace) educators and learners.
