FY26 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act
We are excited to share that the Senate Appropriations Committee has approved the FY26 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, including $25 million for firearm injury prevention research ($12.5M for CDC and $12.5M for NIH)!

- Note: the bill text includes language specifying the $12.5 million for firearm research at NIH (page 83). The Report language includes line items for both NIH (page 83) and CDC (page 93-94).
Additionally, you may be interested to see that there was a $400 million increase for the NIH budget and level funding for the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, including the Injury Control Research Centers, National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS), among other priorities related to this group.
While we are very glad to see this funding included, there is still more work to be done!
