Your Vote, Your Voice: SAVIR Board Elections Open November 2

Dear SAVIR Members,

Your voice matters in shaping SAVIR’s future! Voting opens November 2 for SAVIR’s 2027 Board of Directors election. We encourage all current members to review the candidates and cast their ballots to help guide the future of our organization and the field of violence and injury prevention.

This year, members will elect two directors to three-year terms beginning April 1, 2027.

Meet the Candidates

SAVIR Director – General

The General Director will contribute to SAVIR’s strategic planning, organizational governance, financial stewardship, fundraising and development, and engagement with members and partners across the field.

SAVIR Director – Journal Liaison

The Journal Liaison serves on the SAVIR Board of Directors and represents SAVIR on the Injury Prevention Editorial Board. In addition to the responsibilities of a Board member, this director helps strengthen the partnership between SAVIR and the journal, including sourcing four articles annually for SAVIR’s section.

Voting period: November 2–December 16, 2026

Current SAVIR members are eligible to vote for one candidate for each open seat. Log-in to your SAVIR account to vote; you can reset your password with the “Forgot Password” function if needed.

The newly elected directors will be announced before the SAVIR Annual Conference and begin their terms on April 1, 2027.
