In recent months, health funding and institutions have faced significant challenges . These threaten the essential infrastructure that safeguards the health and well-being of our communities. These attacks not only undermine critical public health programs but also place immense barriers before the professionals and organizations dedicated to advancing health equity, addressing urgent health crises, and protecting lives.

At SAVIR we firmly believe that scientific research and public health are pillars of a thriving, resilient society. The work of health scholars and professionals—grounded in evidence, collaboration, and compassion—has saved countless lives and improved quality of life for all. Defunding or delegitimizing these efforts risks unraveling decades of progress and squandering financial investment. Should this occur, preventable deaths and preventable suffering will follow.

In this challenging environment, our society stands as a place of connection, resilience, and progress. We are a community where researchers, practitioners, and advocates can unite to share ideas, find support, and chart a path forward. Together, we will continue to champion policies that prioritize public health, empower communities, and uphold the values of science and equity.

We urge our members and partners to stay engaged, amplify the importance of data-driven approaches to health problems, and support each other as we navigate these turbulent times. By working together, we can rise above these challenges and ensure that public health remains a cornerstone of societal well-being.

Now, more than ever, we reaffirm our commitment to our mission: advancing research, fostering collaboration, and advocating for the health of all. We invite you to join us as we use our collective voice to resist any changes that would negatively impact health or exacerbate existing inequities.

Together, we move forward.
