The SAVIR 2027 Call for Abstracts is officially open! And we’re opening submissions a little earlier than planned because we had everything ready to go. Rather than making you wait, we’re giving you an early start on preparing and submitting your work.
The Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR) Annual Conference will take place April 5–7, 2027, at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri.
Gateway to the Future
The 2027 conference theme is: “Gateway to the Future: Charting the Next Era of Injury and Violence Prevention in a Changing World.”
As the field of injury and violence prevention continues to evolve, SAVIR 2027 will bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to share evidence, explore emerging challenges, and advance innovative approaches to creating safer communities.
We want to hear from you about the work shaping the future of our field.
Share Your Research and Practice
Whether you’re presenting new research, emerging findings, innovative methods, program evaluation results, or lessons learned from practice, SAVIR 2027 is an opportunity to share your work with colleagues from across the injury and violence prevention community.
Submissions are invited across a range of formats, including:
- Technical Workshops
- Scientific Symposia
- Individual Scientific Abstracts for posters, oral presentations, and Flash Science
- Roundtable Discussions
You can explore the full range of submission types and requirements on the SAVIR 2027 conference website.

You have plenty of time to develop your submission, and you can make changes to your submission until the deadline. So, even if your abstract isn’t quite ready to go, we encourage you to get started now.
Mark Your Calendar
Submission deadline: October 20, 2026
Please note that the deadline is firm. There will be no extension this year, so be sure to give yourself enough time to complete and submit your work.
We’re looking forward to gathering in St. Louis and hearing about the research, programs, partnerships, and ideas that will help chart the next era of injury and violence prevention.
See you at SAVIR 2027!
