The Safe Kids/SAVIR Scholarship for Unintentional Childhood Injury Research is a new scholarship opportunity established in 2025 to help build the capacity of new injury researchers with a focus on unintentional childhood injury. Award amounts will vary depending on the number of submissions and available funds.

Who may apply?

Any PhD student in good academic standing who has successfully passed their proposal defense and whose approved dissertation project is focused on unintentional childhood injury prevention may apply for the scholarship. Students may only receive 1 award during the tenure of their program of study, but may apply more than once if not initially funded. Students of diverse racial, ethnic, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
