Opportunity Description
The University of Michigan Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention Summer Research Fellowship Training Program is a 12-week program for emerging researchers to gain hands-on research experience and mentorship in firearm injury prevention. Fellows build core research skills through online coursework, an in-person training week, virtual seminars, and mentored research. Fellows work with experienced firearm injury prevention researchers on a mentored research project and give a brief capstone presentation highlighting the work they advanced during the fellowship. The program is open to doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career faculty from nursing, medicine, public health, social work, and related fields. Costs related to travel, lodging, and meals during the in-person classroom immersion will be covered.
