The use of artificial intelligence (AI) has become commonplace in clinical practice and research. As firearm injury researchers, clinicians, and practitioners consider appropriate uses, knowing both the benefits of AI and the potential harms can help drive intentional engagement with AI tools.

Kaiser Permanente Center for Gun Violence Research and Education is hosting a webinar on September 10, 2026 at 1PM ET / 10 am PT on The Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Firearm Injury Prevention Research and Practice. The webinar will cover:

• How AI is currently being used in practice by clinicians and patients
• The benefits of AI in both research and clinical practice in the field of violence prevention and intervention
• The challenges associated with using AI and considerations for the current time and for the future
